About Me

How It All Started

My love of photography started a few years ago when my husband and I travelled the world exploring beautiful countries and landscapes. After settling down and starting a family I wanted to capture every special moment in my children’s life and, like many mums, I could not stop taking photos of them. That is when I truly fell in love with photography and developed this passion into a career: I started my business, Gabriella Karney Photography, as a children and family portrait photographer and have now extended my service offerings to corporate photography.

A Bit of Background

Originally I am from Hungary but had left the country over a decade ago as I found love with and married an Englishman. We travelled the world and lived abroad for many years before settling in London. I am a teacher by training with BA (Hons) in History and English, but have made a career in the telecoms and management consultancy businesses before reinventing myself as a mum and starting my photography business.

Other Projects

I am a keen photographer and love taking photographs wherever I go. Apart from portraiture, I am mainly interested in landscapes, cityscapes, architecture and nature photography. You can take a look at these photos on my Facebook account Flickr site or you can vote for your favourites on ViewBug.

What my clients have said

Many thanks Gabriella for being our landscape photographer for our Environmental Data Exchange project. You have been exactly what we have been looking for. I am so amazed at the quality and love everything about your pictures. All our team members commented on how professional you were as well. The images that you provided for the holding page as well as for the main page are first class, and the moments that you have captured are truly wonderful. Because of your stunning images the user experience of the website is much better as the images visualise, support and work with the website’s message in a beautiful and unique way. I heard about Gabriella through a personal recommendation and approached her to take some shots for my corporate website. I was extremely happy with the whole experience. Gabrielle was calm, methodical and creative. She suggested poses and backdrops that my business partner and I might not have considered but which were contemporary and fresh. The end results were a clever blend of professional and accessible shots which are perfect for what I had in mind. We recommended Gabrielle to some of our clients and I wouldn't hesitate to use her again.
Anne-Marie Crawford, Director, Crawford Keenan Communications

Gabriella has that rare combination of a good eye and ability to understand a brief. We were delighted with the photos she took of our Open Data Futures Conference and it was a pleasure to work with her onsite.
Alex Vail, Senior Events Manager, Digital Catapult Centre
